Job Summary
The Senior Auditor is expected to review the activities of the University and provide management and the Board of Visitors with an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity that provides analyses, appraisals, recommendations, and pertinent comments which will add value and help the University achieve its goals and objectives. Helps monitor and assess adequacy of University compliance efforts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Business or other related area of study. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or other related area of study, with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience to equate to a master’s degree in a related field of study.
  • Extensive knowledge of auditing techniques and procedures and business processes and practices; acquired through education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct a variety of audits with considerable independence.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communications, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrated logic and reasoning ability necessary to perform analysis of information obtained during the audit, interpret laws and regulations, and recommend solutions or corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills such as spreadsheets, word processing packages, and other Windows-based applications.
  • Considerable experience in a position responsible for compliance, auditing and/or business.
Preferred Qualifications
  • The possession of, or active pursuit toward, attainment of a related professional designation such as CPA or CIA.
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with compliance issues and systems and ability to analyze such processes and assess gaps.
  • General knowledge and familiarity (or better) with computing systems and applications and/or knowledge of Information Technology auditing.
