This area provides division-wide support functions for finance, budget, environmental compliance, safety, training, administrative services and new employee orientation. Planning, inventory/materials management, work center, workforce management, functional asset management, general/maintenance agreements, systems support, capital infrastructure, sustainable resources/energy, estimating, interagency, and Sound Transit oversight.

This position will provide expertise, guidance, coordination, and support the ongoing work of Transit Facilities Division. Project/Program Managers in this area coordinate works with the Capital Division, develop and implement process improvement, follow Capital Division processes and develop high level execution planning for Transit Facilities capital and operational projects, and represent the interests of Transit Facilities in various capital projects. This position may also coordinate with other groups within Transit, local, state, and federal agencies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, construction management, transportation planning, business administration or a closely related field with at least five years of work experience in project or program management, predominantly working with large scale construction or maintenance projects, which included some responsibility for resource coordination, scheduling, budget monitoring or reporting, contract management and risk analysis OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the work.

Work Schedule
The Project/Program Manager IV position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not eligible for overtime pay. Work is primarily day shift, Monday through Friday. Due to the 24 hour/7 day a week operation of public transportation maintenance activity, this position may require off shift (swing and graveyard) meetings or location visits as well as weekend work.

The primary location of this position is in the King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA) Telecommuting is possible.
Teleworking Requirement
The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly in a hybrid work environment working in the office and at home. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees may be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
