Summary


Directs the cybersecurity center for internal and external stakeholders, while acting as a primary liaison for building a strong partnership within the industry, local communities, government agencies, and other Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) communities while overseeing the departments grant writing, coordination of cyber trainings

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversees the operation of the cybersecurity center alongside faculty
  • Assists in the oversight of the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) designation requirements and summer programming
  • Builds relationships with external applicable industry businesses, clients and partners
  • Works with other university departments, as needed, on identifying, writing, and implementing grants
  • Works with university colleagues on strategic planning for the cybersecurity center
  • Plans and implements summer cyber camps and/or trainings
  • Supports faculty in the delivery of cyber programs
  • Assists on any necessary cybersecurity center upgrades
  • Attends applicable external conferences and trainings, as needed
  • Oversees the development of internal and external cyber trainings
  • Works with faculty and external partners in the development of departmental symposiums
  • Works with faculty and students on university sponsored student competitions
  • Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budget
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate
  • Moderate amount of experience working in network systems or other related experience
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license


Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in cybersecurity/computer science or a related field of study 
  • External relationship with industry, community, and government

 

Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
