Summary

Direct the operations of a remote bank facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service and growth goals.  Direct responsibility for development and retention of branch staff.  Has responsibility to keep office facilities in proper working order.  Responsible for growing business and personal banking relationships through community development and interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees retail operations & sales activities of the branch. Trains staff and ensures compliance on all bank policies, procedures and regulations. Develop staff to generate new business through cross sales. Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff, including hiring, training and terminations. Ensures branch overdrafts are resolved timely. Delegates work assignments to the Assistant Branch Manager as deemed appropriate.
  • Meets with current and potential customers in the branch to discuss their financial needs; offers appropriate products and services while developing and expanding account relationships. Assists customers with opening and closing accounts, ensures accurate account ownership and makes changes to existing accounts. Gather and prepare appropriate documentation in accordance with all regulations and established bank policies and procedures. Resolves account-related concerns with customers. Ensure that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions with customers and employees.
  • Ensures open communications, represents the branch at internal management meetings and reviews and supports the dissemination of required reporting and information. Works in unison with non-retail staff to build a cohesive branch environment.
  • Develop and oversee the security for the branch. Keep the security manual up to date, review the information on an as needed basis or at least annually, and communicate any changes to employees. Administer the branch calling tree and keep manuals current.
  • Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with customers and business, community, and civic organizations, other financial institutions, and other similar groups. Supports in branch retail business development goals. Actively participates in community outreach efforts that educate customers and promote the bank in the communities we serve.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Three years to five years of teller, new account or related banking experience required. Must have knowledge of Deposit Banking Regulations. Two years of supervisory experience required.        
  • A college degree or 5+ years in commensurate work experience.

  • Strong business development skills to market the bank and oneself in all situations, whether during or after business hours.  This includes the ability to identify banking opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling the individual to successfully motivate and work with a diverse group of people. 
  • Excellent supervisory skills, with proven leadership ability and skills necessary to handle employee relations in a positive and effective manner.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge and familiarity of the policies and procedures.
  • Effective leadership and supervisory skills to maximize individual/team performance.
