DIRECT SUPPLY, INC. STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Direct Supply, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Staff Software Engineer to design solutions for web-based products, mobile applications or server-based transaction systems in Durham, NC.  

Duties Include: Indirect Leadership (30%):  Technical direction of project team, design solutions and provide leadership for software engineering process, SDLC and complex problems; Identify and evangelize new development processes that improve the predictability and quality; Provide technical analysis of the ideation phase. Estimate, plan execution of projects and provide technical deliverables meeting business needs; Organize R&D projects that leverage the power of the team. Software Architecture and Design (30%):  Understand system architecture and the integration of new functionality; Provide architecture and design framework for smaller projects; Provide designs and communicate architecture for complex aspects of projects to team and verify conformity; Software Review and Implementation (20%) using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, JavaScript,  React, Webservices, AWS and other cloud-based technologies; Use Scrum development process to deliver software solutions; Coordinate integration testing and debugging of software components; Prepare release plans for software releases to production; Support (20%)  Find and fix bugs in released software.

The minimum requirements for the Staff Software Engineer are a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technology-focused degree (or U.S. equivalent) and 6 years software engineering experience which must include and can be gained concurrently: 6 years authoring code using .Net and industry standard front-end framework using proven design principles and coding practices;  6 years working under an agile Scrum environment (software life cycle); 5 years working with SQL database;  5 years working with large JavaScript frameworks AngularJS, or ReactJS, or JQuerry;  2 years active training other team members on new software application technologies; and 1 year developing large, scalable, highly available web-based software (i.e., Cloud or Dev Ops.).
