The Life of an HCA Nurse

ICU nurses work quickly, efficiently, independently, and meticulously. In order to treat the most critical patients in the most thorough manner, critical care nurses use their specialized skills and extensive knowledge of disease pathology to provide interventions that sustain life.

About this unit:

  • 70-bed ICU made up of Neuro ICU, SICU, MICU, CCU, and Abdominal Transplant units
  • Cohesive teamwork, opportunity to be trained and developed by top notch nurses, educators, mentors and physicians
  • You’ll be able to care for patients recovering from complex trauma including TBI, spinal cord injury, strokes, CABGs, and abdominal transplants
Responsibilities:
  • The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery and management of patient care.  S/he utilizes the nursing process, the healthcare environment, and current technology to provide a climate which optimizes patient care and staff development.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing    
  • Current Louisiana or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS
  • ACLS certification required within 1 year of employment
  • One year of previous ICU experience preferred
