Successful construction projects start with good planning and design. At Newt Marine we can help design and consult on projects from the very start, drawing on years of practical experience. On staff personnel have strong backgrounds and degrees in engineering, construction management, business and wildlife biology.

Lock and Bridge Assists - We’ve been assisting line boats for nearly 40 years and continue to this day with an excellent safety record. We currently assist boats at Lock Numbers 11, 12, 14 and 15 and at the Dubuque, Crescent, and Sabula railroad bridges.

Dry Dock & Ship Repair - Newt Marine offers an extensive line of dry docking and ship repair services. We have two dry-docks, with 60 feet between the wing-walls and a capacity of over 600 gross TN, we can handle most vessels.

Dredging - With over 30 years of dredging experience, no job too large or too small, including marina and habitat construction, channelization, contaminated spoils and harbor maintenance. Newt Marine offers both hydraulic dredging with portable walking spud hydraulic dredges and mechanical dredging with our extensive fleet of deck and spud barges.
