**NOTICE**
In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.
The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st – through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN’s Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Essential Job Functions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Acts as part of program administration team.
  • Responsible for hiring, supervision, and training of all program nursing staff.
  • Supervises nursing staff and provides effective ongoing evaluation of performance while using performance management protocols appropriately.
  • Manages nursing schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Works collaboratively with the administrative/leadership team to establish and implement program policies and protocols, and defining the scope of services rendered within licensing/legislative regulations for program.
  • Ensures adherence to regulations and requirements of licensing bodies and funding sources.
  • Conducts quality assurance activities: monitors implementation and fidelity to nursing policies/procedures, collects and analyzes data.
  • Acts as liaison to Program Director.
  • Manages Medication Administration Program.
  • Provides training to program staff.
  • Provides consultation to program staff for client referrals and community members with medical issues associated to vaccine administration
  • Manages infectious disease protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to work with challenging and diverse populations.
  • Demonstrates cultural competence in dealing with clients served within a variety of different cultural backgrounds
  • Provides on-call coverage
  • Identifies, analyzes, and solves problems as they arise in performance of duties.
  • Maintains job effectiveness under changing conditions
  • Mentors medical/pharmacy students when appropriate

Job Knowledge

  • Must be well organized with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have familiarity with internet, word processing and e-mail systems.
  • Ability to understand, empathize, and work with mentally ill population, including those with co-occurring disorders.
  • Must have knowledge of quality assurance standards and CARF standards.

Experience and Training

  • Must have at least one year of experience working with a psychiatric population.
  • Must have a valid RN license in the state of MA.
  • Must be MI trained
  • Must complete current CDC trainings regarding administration of vaccine prior to start.

Schooling or Equivalent

  • Minimum of current R.N. license by Massachusetts Board of Registration.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Good observation and documentation skills.
  • High motivation to work with the mentally ill population.
  • 1 year experience in a human service field or equivalent experience with a psychiatric population.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
