Job #17-60 Public Health Nurse 2 - Registered Nurse Part Time (CYSHCN)
1 Part Time Regular opening in our Maternal Child Health/ CYSHCN program. Position is benefits eligible. Applicants must submit an employment application/ required documents to be considered.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

2 - 5 years of Public Health Nursing experience preferred.

Required Licenses:

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington

• Valid motor vehicle driver’s license and access to vehicle or another means of accessing multiple work sites in a timely manner

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to accurately assess own learning needs and develop strategies to meet them including continuing education, workshops/conferences to increase skill and competencies.

• Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data and make appropriate recommendations based on the data

• Ability to anticipate a client’s needs and adjust nursing methodologies to meet those needs

• Ability to assist in creating positive work environment that promotes productivity, mentoring, teamwork and cooperation.

• Ability to create communication environment where clients and colleagues feel free to ask questions and make suggestions

• Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion and judgment in carrying out position responsibilities

• Ability to mentor and coach staff

• Ability to utilize appropriate methods of interacting sensitively, effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds and persons of all ages and lifestyle preferences

• Ability to utilize strengths based approach when working with families and professional colleagues

• Ability to work flexible time schedule; occasional early morning and evening meetings

• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.

• Advanced knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices

• Demonstrates strong written, verbal and listening skills to interact effectively with families, peers and community based colleagues

• Knowledge of agency policy and procedures, advanced knowledge of quality assurance methodologies

• Knowledge of childhood growth and development

• Knowledgeable of public health issues and trends

• Knowledge of public health nursing standards and competencies

• Knowledge of state nursing statutes and regulations

• Ability to learn and utilize Microsoft office applications 9i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Remote desktop and other software programs) required for program reporting.
