Financial Manager

 

Description:

  • The Financial Manager is responsible for all financial and accounting related functions.
  • He / she also prepares payroll and maintains all personnel and contractual records.
  • This part-time position (approximately 30 hours per week) reports to the CEO.

 

Responsibilities and Relations:

  • Maintain accounting systems and financial records.
  • Prepare and analyze financial data and records to support decision making.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, manage and reconcile all internal and external accounts.
  • Monitor mortgage, grant, liquid and investment funds and accounts; analyze trends, forecasts and options; and advise CEO of recommended transfers and management actions.
  • Interact with financial institutions. 
  • Maintain all PRPS agreement and contract files, grant accounting records, and prepare grant financial reporting. 
  • Assist CEO with budget preparation and annual audit preparation.
  • Contribute to Finance Committee deliberations.
  • Maintain personnel and benefits files and prepare biweekly payrolls.
  • Determine and implement actions to improve efficiency, transparency and integrity of accounting systems, procedures, and reporting.
  • Generate monthly and periodic financial reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in finance or accounting related position.
  • Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making sound decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups, staff, and as part of a team for the benefit of the PRPS and the membership.
  • Superior accounting, financial and time management skills.
  • Mastery of accounting and Microsoft Office Suite software, and familiarity with website content management systems applications.
  • Personal commitment to recreation, parks, conservation, professional development and connecting people to the outdoors.
