Job Description

A local medical office is seeking a Medical Front Desk Receptionist who will be responsible for providing support to the clinic’s optometrists, occupational therapists and clients to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the clinic.  You will work 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients, provide information, schedule appointments, and collect co-pays
  • Provide excellent and professional customer service to all clients, partners, and employees 
  • Check and respond to voicemails promptly and schedule and confirm appointments and consultations 
  • Check clients in and out; Collect co-payments and photocopy and/or scan identification and insurance information for billing
  • Assist supervisor in maintaining and updating the doctor’s and occupational therapist’s schedules
  • Complete end of day closure and send reports to referring doctors and offices
  • Put together daily client charts in order for doctors and therapists each day
  • Scan and input data into required Electronic Health Record Software and other clinic related programs for accurate billing and reports
  • Receive and process referrals, identify and collect missing documentation, and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary departments 
  • Oversee waiting area, coordinate patient movement, reports issues or problems to supervisor, and maintain professional office environment 
  • Comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations, collaborate with volunteers on various projects, and perform other duties as requested 

 

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma of GED
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or optometrist office is preferred
  • Must have strong organizational, communication, customer service, recordkeeping, and filing skills
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Web Portal, and Electronic Health Records
  • Must have accurate typing and data entry skills
  • Must be self-directed and able to relate well to people with disabilities
  • Must be able to follow all agency policies including HIPAA and Code of Ethics
