Our Microbiology department features:

    • Newly installed automated high-throughput microbiology processing system with significant turnaround time advantages
    • State-of-the-art molecular assays for stool and respiratory pathogens
    • Maldi-TOF mass spectrometer technology for rapid identification of infectious isolates

 

Description:

  • Performs high and moderate complexity testing with high degree of skill and proficiency.
  • Assists on projects and takes on additional tasks as needed under supervision. Follows all hospital policies and procedures consistently.

  • Education:  Associates/Bachelors in Biological, Chemical Science or clinical laboratory science. Must meet course attendance to meet CLIA guidelines to perform high complexity testing
  • MT or MLS education strongly preferred 
  • MLT with substantial plate reading experience will be considered
  • Certification:  ASCP or equivalent for MT/MLT degreed candidates strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of MLT/MT microbiology plate reading experience, strongly preferred
