About the Job:

Summary: We seek a strategic leader who will oversee the large-scale accounting operations of all affiliated Resort Group Companies, with direct oversight of the two accounting divisions to ensure they work together harmoniously for a fully integrated & efficient operational environment.  This position works closely with and reports to the CFO.  This position will join the executive team and directly oversee the Directors of Accounting.  The VP will provide direction and input related to processes, systems, staff oversight/development, and strategize with operations teams to determine and anticipate their needs. 

The successful candidate for the Vice President of Accounting will be a strategic individual with ten years or more of managerial accounting and financial management experience with applicable and prolonged Community Management / Homeowner Association Management experience as well as proficiency in accounting for Hospitality / Resort.  This is an opportunity for the right individual who seeks the CFO career track.

Responsibilities include

Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing direct staff and all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.

Designing and implementing accounting processes/systems in order to deliver accurate and compliant financials, meet operations needs and for successful overall accounting results.

Analyzing companies’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Oversee the issuance of regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.

Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other department head team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.

Reviewing & approving monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the executive team.

Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance.

Ensuring tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes are adhered to and deadlines met.

Creating systems & providing oversight for timely & accurate cash flow management.

Strategically designing and directing the re-organization of two separate Accounting Divisions into one fully integrated, efficiently operating Accounting Department to meet current needs and future growth.

Other finance and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

10 plus years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.

Outstanding leadership skills and team building successes.

Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and deadlines under pressure.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA preferred but not required.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Experience in Community Association Management & Hospitality Sectors.
