Manage & oversee activities related to auto, commercial, agricultural, & off-road vehicle wheel develop & testing, includes all associate new process engineering, program management, & engineering operations.
Lead improvements in process capability, capital expenditure projects, & productivity through managing & overseeing industrial installations, & new machining techniques, welding development processes, stamping & roll forming tech, utilizing Finite Element Analysis, Strain Gage & Failure Modes analysis techniques.
Oversee lab activities includes product durability testing, metrology, & mechanical & chemical materials properties. Liaise with vendors & customers to identify customers needs, detailed product specifications, & manage purchasing of equipment, materials & parts.
Oversee preparation of estimations re production time, staffing requirements, & related costs, & advise sales & marketing staff of product characteristics.
Provide managerial assistance to prod eng’g activities, & oversee development & deployment of new products & processes.
Communicate project milestones to customer representatives, perform technical negotiations with customer & suppliers, & support sales teams during negotiations.
Utilize International Automotive Task Force 14001 & 16949 quality system.
15% travel, both domestic & international.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or foreign equivalent.
2 years experience in an engineering management position in auto & commercial wheel manufacturing industry.
2 years experience with each of:
Leading prod engineering & manufacturing processes for steel wheels for passenger cars, commercial trucks, & agricultural & off-road vehicles, includes machining, stamping, laminating, & welding ops utilizing Finite Element Analysis, Strain Gage, & Failure Modes Analysis techniques, as well as painting operation, performing packaging evals for new auto, commercial, agricultural, & off-road vehicle steel wheel products, includes analyzing packaging & transportation-related defects.
Utilizing Aras to complete Advanced Product Quality Planning , Change Management, Request for Quotations and Bill of materials, & to coordinate product development & engineering change processes.
Product performance & product test activities for auto, commercial, agricultural, & off-road vehicle steel wheels, includes calculating assoc costs & developing & deploying testing plans.
Utilizing Finite Element Analysis to estimate & predict both overall steel wheel system & individual component performance, & to simulate wheel product design & testing activities.
Experience can be acquired concurrently.
