The Digital Specialist's responsibilities include:

• Support the Multimedia Account Executives by coordinating digital promotion/advertising fulfillment.
• Understand and use various digital platforms and programs used by Herald and News.
• Support the newsroom with layout and clerk duties as described below.
• Fulfill additional administrative duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Computer experience, to include knowledge of WORD, EXCEL, email, Adobe Suite.
• Ability to learn various computer software and platforms to successfully function in the environment.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent spelling and proof-reading skills.
• Valid OR state driver’s license and proof of insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of newspaper or print advertising.
• Customer service experience.

• Coordination with other departments, publications, offices and buildings to create a smooth work flow for the team.

Additional Job Functions:

• May make outside sales calls with Sales Reps.
• Assist with special section pagination where needed.
• Act as lead for Affinity X digital program, helping to maximize revenue generation.
• Work as a liaison with Second Street digital platform and initiate revenue-generating ideas that can be self-managed or in conjunction with Multimedia Account Executives.
• Manage incoming obituaries and work with customers to create and publish obituaries to their satisfaction.
• Work in conjunction with the newsroom to layout and manage Limelighter publication, Faith Briefs, Connections Page and other special sections.
