The NICU/ Mother/Baby Nurse Educator is a clinical resource to guide and provide expert-nursing care based on scientific principles and theories while utilizing the nursing process as a framework for practice.

The Educator will offer educational programs that are evidence-based and developed to meet the needs of team members in all phases of skill and knowledge acquisition.

The NICU/Mother/Baby Clinical Educator serves as role model and resource person in the clinical, educational, and management domains.

Responsibilities are preformed with an attitude supportive to change, in a manner that will create a favorable image for the department and hospital.

The NICU/ Mother/Baby Nurse Educator practices within the legal scope of practice as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.

BSN required. MS in health related field desirable. Must have 3 years of clinical experience. Computer skills required but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets. databases, and report generating skills. Teaching experience preferred. Must have current License to practice in the State of Louisiana. Must have Current American Heart BLS and NRP. Partial time working in staffing.
