Pay Rate: $45,900 - $56,800.00/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.

Culture and Diversity

Position Summary: The overall purpose of the job is to review and certify athletic eligibility, including submissions to NJCAA. Responsible for letter of intent submission/record keeping, and completion of tracers/waivers.

Essential Functions:

55% Responsible for all aspects of athletic compliance, reporting and certification as it pertains to academic eligibility, Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act, coordinate all Letter of Intent submissions/record keeping, complete tracers/waivers, etc.

20% Manage and ensure all Consumer Information compliance requirements for the college are met (posted to college website) and updated annually. Develop and lead a Consumer Information taskforce to meet bi-annually. Perform internal audits of enrollment services processes as needed.

20% Award Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit and transfer credit to student files.  Process credit evaluations for students as needed.    

5% Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

·    Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred, CCEP (Certified compliance and Ethics Professional Program preferred  

·    Minimum of 3 year’s related work experience that includes analytical and critical thinking skills required. 2 years of higher ed experience preferred. 2 years of work within athletic compliance at a community college or university preferred.  

Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Must follow all Equity in Athletics disclosure act requirements.

Must follow all consumer information requirements defined b the Department of Education.

Must meet all NJCAA requirements.

Ability to engage in the college’s mission and values.

Magnitude of Impact: Athletics and Consumer Information reaches all areas of the college. Some errors will be found immediately, others within days or weeks. If errors are discovered, staff from all over the college may be asked to intervene.

Responsibility for Accuracy: Reporting missing required pieces, parts of consumer information missing, or inaccurate, compliance standards not met and fines assessed to the college by auditors and reviewers.

Financial Impact: This position could have a great impact on the college’s financials if the college is assessed financial fines due to items being found out of compliance.

Budgetary: This position would provide input to the development of the athletics budget as it relates to scholarships and letters of intent.  The Athletics Department is new to the college so the budgetary responsibilities of the position will be determined as the program evolves. 

Judgement and Decisions: The employee will make all decisions independently with support as needed from other departments.

Physical Demands: This position requires that an employee be able to move about and or remain stationary for large periods of time, exceeding 30 minutes or more at times. The employee should be able to bend, turn and lift up to 15 pounds.

Hazards: The employee could develop wrist or hand issues from typing and using a computer. The employee could develop some lower back, neck and shoulder pain from constantly standing and sitting. The work environment is typically not conducive to physical injury or illness.
