The Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's & Neurodegenerative Diseases (Biggs Institute) in the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) is seeking Neurologists with subspecialty training in Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology for a tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Our goal is to identify an individual who is passionate about clinical care and research.

The Biggs Institute was founded to transform dementia care in South Texas by providing comprehensive patient care and research opportunities. As such, patient appointments are allocated to have more time per visit. Clinic support staff includes social work, counseling, and nursing outreach. Clinics for complex cases include evaluation by Behavioral Neurology, Neuropsychology, Geriatric Psychiatry and Geriatrics. Regarding research opportunities, research time will be protected. Candidates with experience conducting clinical trials will be preferred. Candidates with 3-4 years of experience delivering superb clinical care and involvement in clinical trials research as a PI or Co-PI could qualify for an Endowed Chair position.

The Biggs Institute is led by Dr. Sudha Seshadri, an internationally-renowned Neurologist and Senior Investigator who leads the studies on cognition for the Framingham Heart Study. Dr. Seshadri works directly with Biggs faculty to develop research studies and improve clinical care. The Biggs Institute has substantial institutional and community support, as well as philanthropic and NIH funding. The patient population is diverse and the atmosphere is friendly and collaborative.
