This position performs and coordinates clerical operational activities for class programming including community benefit reporting. Facilitates departmental operations with administrative skills utilizing effective communication, collaboration, document management, and excellent customer service. Provides financial data and assists leadership with financial details of community programming. Functions as a central communication and access point for class scheduling. Provides project support and manages processes that affect services and relationships with the community. Communicates and coordinates workflows with departments that provide services for outreach activities and programming. Provides support and serve as backup resource for Outreach Manager and performs other support duties as needed.

Education/Expertise:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a healthcare related field preferred.

 

Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT):

None

 

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in patient registration, scheduling, insurance office or related medical field required.
  • Basic knowledge of third party payor and managed care insurance requirements required.
  • Basic medical terminology and ICD-9 CM coding knowledge required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized with good analytical and problem solving ability. 
  • Excellent client service, communication, presentation and relationship building skills required. 
  • Ability to multi-task as well as function independently in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful work environment required
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, resolve and follow up on high profile issues required.

 

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.) required.

Location:  Ashland

Shift:  M-F 20 hrs/wk
