Are you ready to advance to the role of Vice President of Performance Improvement, Applications, and Analytics at our leading non profit, BHN?

Behavioral Health Network is a large and growing non-profit provider of community-based mental health, substance use disorder, and intellectual disability services. We employ close to 2000 individuals throughout Western Massachusetts, with an annual operating budget of about $90 million.

While its service territory is the four counties of Western Massachusetts, BHN’s predominant presence is in the Pioneer Valley, with its corporate office located in Springfield, MA.

  • Plans with executive leadership
  • Directs and manages the performance improvement function of the agency
  • Assists BHN’s Information Systems comprising applications, data management & reporting, quality assurance & project management, and the EHR team
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the Performance Improvement (PI) functions of the agency, aligning applications, data management & reporting, quality assurance & project management, and the EHR team in assisting BHN towards its mission of providing equitable high quality care.
  • Ensures the implementation of the established standards placed on this agency by funding, governing, licensing, and accreditation.
  • Leads the PI process and program evaluation through monthly data collection, analysis, audit, and reporting, and works with senior managers to implement performance improvement plans for areas as identified.
  • Assists in the development, monitoring, and presentation of internal quality measures and initiatives and ensure compliance with external regulations and agency standards.
  • Coordinating tracking and reporting of program outcomes, and follow-up of corrective action .
  • Responsible for developing methods for data collection, integration of systems information, and extracting data as required defined by senior leadership
  • Demonstrates expertise in data management and the use of analytical and statistical tools to identify trends in current processes and systems.
  • Transforms data into actionable information and communicates performance improvement priorities and results using narrative and the appropriate methods of data visualization.
  • Coordinates and facilitates monthly and quarterly meetings related to compliance, risk quality
  • Set expectations, develops plans, and manages processes to measure, assess and improve the quality of clinical programs and/or regulatory/accreditation compliance by measurable results in assigned facilities.
  • Seek methods to improve current agency practices/processes/clinical products by identifying problems and proposing solutions, as necessary to include program review and clinical systems review.
  • Investigate, in collaboration with the agency, any quality concerns such as those received from state and federal agencies including the Corporate Risk Management . Prepare, in collaboration with appropriate disciplines, action plans and submits responses within designated time frame.
  • Work collaboratively with corporate staff, physicians, risk management, and other corporate leaders to address performance improvement and quality improvement issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably with a concentration in Computer Science or Information Sciences; Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
    • 10 years of business operations experience ideally in the context of high-growth company environments.
    • Five or more years of leadership experience required, preferably in an MIS/IT organization managing a team of MIS/IT professionals.
    • Previous MIS experience in a Healthcare environment is also desirable and experience interfacing with executive level management.
    • Active affiliation with appropriate Information Technology networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement, preferred.
