Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Information Management, the Manager of Data and Information is responsible for assisting in the establishment, development, and continuous improvement of the Data Management Program at Tarrant County College (TCC).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Oversees and maintains the TCC repository of data definitions and specifications
  • Reviews and recommends appropriate knowledge bases to house TCC data
  • Creates definitions and taxonomies for known and potential data
  • Instructs College personnel on proper storage, retrieval, and transfer of data and information
  • Migrates data to appropriate knowledge bases
  • Gathers, combines, formats, structures, and organizes data to ensure easy use for analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization
  • Maintains data confidentiality and information security
  • Identifies, monitors, and utilizes business analytics tools to gain required insights from data
  • Prepares data-driven reports
  • Promotes the use and adoption of data management and information governance best practices
  • Assists with the overall Information Management program
  • Plays key role in data governance initiatives

Service Excellence
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Information Management

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Three (3) years working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Data Science, Library/Information Science, or related field
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience providing recommendations to stakeholders based on relevant state and federal regulations
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience creating business processes and procedures
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience in higher education
  • Current Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of service management including familiarity with service management systems
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
  • Skilled using MS tool applications and enterprise systems, including Teams, OneDrive, 365, Office, etc.
  • Ability to perform duties using TeamDynamix or similar ITSM tool
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing and executing under pressure
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
