Job Summary: Provides professional nursing care to patients/families and the community. Accomplishes this by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care and supervising the work of the licensed practical nurses, ancillary staff and students assigned to the unit. Specifically the registered nurse performs as a bedside nurse, teacher, medication nurse and care coordinator. The Registered Nurse 2 exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:

RN licensure as outlined by NYS Education Department and one year post-licensure clinical nursing experience required. CPR Requirement: American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Professional Level Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR. On-line BLS CPR programs are not acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with patient assessment, patient and family education, use of an electronic medical record system. Education and experience with establishing peripheral and central venous access to administer medications including monoclonal antibodies, chemotherapy and other medications.. Experience in outpatient hematology/oncology or similar office setting preferred.
Work Days:

Monday through Friday 8am-430pm alternating with 830am-5pm
