BASIC FUNCTIONS: Service and perform maintenance on school buses and other motor vehicles. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE OF Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment, including buses, trucks, automobiles and other mechanical equipment. Safe work practices.
ABILITY TO Use hand tools. Assist in locating and diagnosing mechanical defects. Perform automotive preventive maintenance and assist in repair work. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Work cooperatively with others. Read directions for minor repairs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent, experience in general maintenance and repair work and repair of automotive equipment including buses, trucks, and automobiles.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS The following MUST BE ATTACHED to the application:

  • High School Diploma OR Equivalent OR
  • Associates Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree OR Higher Education Degree
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATES Possession of a valid California Driver's license. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination. A pre-employment drug screening will also be administered. Cost of the exam and test will be borne by the district. If selected for the position, out of district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted. A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.
