POSITION TITLE: EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY:

Inspects and prepares equipment and machinery prior to utilization. Reprocesses after use. Maintain proper work flow of equipment and/or machinery to the area, service or patient population for which it is intended.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical dexterity and ability.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

Office and clinical setting. Exposure class I. Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Medium work: Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, push and pull.

WORK CONTACT GROUP:

All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, various regulatory and professional agencies.
