SALARY:                               $55,000 to $75,000 commensurate with skills & experience

CLOSING DATE:                  May 22, 2022

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Experience with fund accounting and/or school district accounting;
  • Knowledge of accounting software, word and excel;
  • Excellent communication and human relation skills;

 

DUTIES:

  • Oversees classification of receipts and expenditures for a variety of transactions;
  • Performs payroll and accounts payable functions as necessary;
  • Supervises and posts to journal or ledger from a variety of original entry media;
  • Maintains all district fund accounting records including general ledger;
  • Compiles, prepares and analyzes a variety of financial and statistical records and reports for appropriate authorities,
  • Prepares invoices and tracks accounts receivable for all District services provided to outside entities;
  • Responsible for cash management including investment opportunities;
  • Performs cash flow analysis and coordinates the investment of district funds;
  • Assists in the preparation of annual operating budgets and state aid submissions;
  • Reconciles annual state aid received with state aid budget and annual SED filing;
  • Reconciles monthly bank statements and prepares related report for the Board of Education;
  • Coordinates computerized account keeping methods and procedures and suggests and recommends methods of improving accounting practices and procedures;
  • Manages and administers the accounting software, including training, access and maintenance;
  • Coordinates and oversees the annual District audit;
  • Ensures the maintenance of necessary financial controls;
  • Maintains a calendar of indebtedness and prepares payments in accordance with it;
  • Assists in the development of and monitoring/presentation of the district’s budget and state aid applications;
  • Manages state and federal grants and files required quarterly and annual reports;
  • Responsible for food service sales tax return,
  • Performs special financial projects as may be assigned by the Superintendent or School Business Administrator.
