First New York Federal Credit Union’s Lending department is growing and is currently seeking a Consumer Loan Officer. Individual must demonstrate a highly motivated, positive, outgoing personality. Emphasis will be on sales and results to ensure the maximization of lending and sales opportunities. Must exhibit the ability to think independently by effectively responding to each individual lending situation.

The Loan Officer will be expected to possess a thorough knowledge of the lending process from application to closing. Responsibilities include consistently achieving loan sales goals and presenting appropriate solutions to fit lending needs while recommending products and services. The Loan Officer must become familiar with underwriting philosophies, lending decisions, approval stipulations, credit bureau reports and scores, extended warranties, GAP insurance, Credit Life and Disability insurance, loan rates and lending policies and procedures. Requirements include 2+ years of consumer lending experience and 1 year of sales experience, a proficiency with MS Excel and Word, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
