Bay River Metropolitan Sewerage District in Pamlico County is now accepting resumes for Sewer District Superintendent. The Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, carries out policy that has been recommended by the governing boards and prepares reports concerning progress and operations of the Sewer Department. Plans and supervises all major projects for the construction and installation of sewer lines, lift stations, pumping stations and related facilities. Acts as a liaison to the Board of Directors and other agencies. An advanced degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences with a minimum of 5 years experience in a Supervisory Position of a Public Utility is preferred. Direct experience and licensing in the operation and maintenance of a Public Sewer Utility can be considered a substitute for formal education. Ability to plan and direct work, organize and coordinate the supervision of personnel, read and analyze engineering drawings used in water and sewer systems, prepare and maintain detailed records showing revenues and expenditures, work effectively with advisory boards and subordinate personnel. Demonstrate problem solving and people skills. Proven oral and written skills are required. Salary is commensurate based upon experience.
