Summary: 

Directs and integrates a culture of nursing excellence by developing and leading the annual planning process of the nursing strategic plan; identifies critical issues and strategic opportunities in nursing; develops strategic recommends to nursing leadership how to optimize growth and development of the nursing department; and serves as the system leader in directing accreditation compliance including The Joint Commission, Ohio Department of Health, and other regulatory agencies. Promotes safe patient care across the system through planning, organizing, directing, leading, and evaluating programs that include education, professional development, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. Oversees Magnet Recognition Program and nursing research. Maintains accountability for operations within assigned areas, including financial management and centralized process efficiencies. Keeps current with technological advances within assigned area. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 


Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Master’s Degree in a health-related field.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
Certification in nursing administration or other related specialty (e.g., CENP, NE/NEA-BC, NPD-BC, or CPHQ).
Seven years combined clinical and management experience in an ambulatory or inpatient setting with demonstrated progressive management experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills required along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic databases and reports.
Demonstrated ability with performance improvement and quality assurance activities, along with summarizing, formatting, interpreting, and utilizing data.
Demonstrated knowledge of ANCC Magnet criteria and standards.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Doctor of Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing or other related healthcare field.
