CAD Designer - FULL TIME (Butler, WI)

COMPETENCIES

  • Experience in one or more of our skilled trades; patternmaking, tool & die, machinist, metrology, CAD design, welding, maintenance.
  • Computer Aided Design CAD software — Proficient with Solidworks CAD or similar.
  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of patterns, fixtures, tooling for molding, forming, and fabricating industries.
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications.
  • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Working understanding of Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GDT).
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Practical experience in skilled trades such as pattern or tool making.
  • Technology - Competency with Hardware & Software - Using Microsoft Office, JobBoss ERP, & ACT, among others.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Interact positively with all internal & external customers.
  • Safety – Knowledge & use of all safe practices.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Education required: High School diploma and Technical class work in above areas
  • Experience required: Five years

HOURS OF WORK:  Full Time - 40+ hours per week - 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret CAD files, technical drawings, computer-generated reports, & customer requirements.
  • Understand customer needs, design patterns, tools, fixtures in CAD, gain approval from customers, and communicate with shop through production & certification of products that meet requirements.
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
  • Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.

WAGE:  $28 to $34 / Hour Based on Experience.
