Finance Technician II - Payroll Technician

City of Kettering, OH 

Regular full-time position performing technical-level work related to the processing of payroll for more than 1200 employees that includes complex interpretations & administering of laws & regulations related to pensions, FLSA, PPACA, BWC, HRA, HSA & Flex Spending accounts, SS/Medicare, 1099 reporting, W-2 reconciliation/reporting, 941 reporting, Deferred Compensation & Military pay. The Technician will work under the direction of the Assistant Finance Director & Finance Director, but is required to perform duties exercising independent judgment with limited supervision.

Must have good knowledge of day-to-day practices of modern payroll administration & strong personal initiative. 1-3 years of current experience in payroll processing with HRIS system experience and general accounting experience and background preferred. High school diploma or its equivalent with a degree in Accounting or Finance a plus; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.

Pay range $25.81/hour to $33.04/hour.; Excellent Benefits.
