Environmental, Health, and Safety Administrator

Responsible for the successful development, design, direction, implementation, administration and oversight of the organization’s safety programs and initiatives and to ensure compliance with local, State and Federal environmental, health and safety regulations including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.  Support and drive the company-wide REACH Beyond Zero Corporate HSEQ safety initiative, program, and vision.  Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases to determine causes and recommend, install, and implement preventive measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accident and health hazards.  Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify, assess risks, and correct potential hazards.  Ensure safety of employees.   Conduct applicable environmental, health, and safety training.  Review plans and specifications for the installation of new machinery or equipment in order to ensure all safety requirements are met.  Compile, analyze, interpret, and report on findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, environmental testing, and other statistical data related to environmental, health, safety, occupational illnesses, incidents, and accidents.  Conduct or direct testing of air quality, noise, temperature, etc. to verify compliance.  Maintain liaisons with outside organizations, such as fire departments, mutual aid societies, and rescue teams, so that emergency responses can be facilitated.  Serve as the designated Company Safety Officer.

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.  Minimum of three (3) years of work experience implementing environmental, health, and safety programs in a manufacturing environment.  Strong problem resolution, customer service, and team orientation skills.  Must have extensive knowledge or training of regulatory and technical requirements in occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance with applicable federal and NY state regulations and standards.  Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands on health, safety and environmental training.  Demonstrated proactive approach in recognizing and correcting safety issues and continuous improvement of organizational safety.  Familiarity with good manufacturing processes.  EH&S Certification preferred.  Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and Internet required.
