DRIVER

Position:  AG Exempt

Reports To:  Oxford Farm Manager

Position Type / Hours:  Full-time with average week 40-50 hours; must be willing to work additional hours as needed (whatever it takes to accomplish goals and objectives) and be prepared to work in all weather conditions at tasks that are sometimes physically demanding. Travel between farms is required as part of the position.

Job Description: The Driver transports finished product to designated customers according to a trucking schedule prepared by the Shipping Supervisor and/or Shipping Manager.  The Driver will perform various operational functions to ensure the effective operation of the Shipping Department by ensuring that prescribed schedules, policies and procedures are followed.

Primary Responsibilities:

Inspect vehicle weekly and complete Weekly Vehicle Checklist, notifying Oxford Farm Manager and Maintenance Team Leader of any maintenance issues that need reporting
Complete a thorough vehicle inspection prior to each customer delivery trip
Responsible for ensuring vehicle has documentation prior to customer delivery trip (i.e., DOT medical card, insurance card, registration)
Ensure compliance with ELD Mandate
Transfer plants between production facility and shipping department
Abide by all laws pertaining to use of a wireless device while operating a motor vehicle
Be courteous to customers while making deliveries; exemplifying North Creek image
Perform additional duties as required

Required Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to drive a box truck
Ability to pass a Department of Transportation medical certification physical
Possess a valid driver’s license, with ability for record to pass insurance company standards
Ability to follow map directions
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Be able to read, write and count accurately
Basic understanding of computers, including email and wireless devices (tablets, text messaging)
Experience in general automotive maintenance helpful
Be a good communicator; can organize thoughts well and express them in a clear manner that is well received

Physical Demands/Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Activities include/employee will need to: stand, walk, sit, push, pull, climb, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, grasp, drive
Possess a valid driver’s license which will meet approval of company insurance carrier
Ability to pass medical clearance test (Department of Transportation)
