RESPONSIBILITIES
NSA has an excellent opportunity available in our Occupational Health, Environmental, and Safety Services (OHESS) Department for a Physician. OHESS supports NSA by promoting, assessing, and optimizing the health of the workforce and workplace. OHESS strives to be the Intelligence Community's premiere provider of occupational health services, employee assistance programs, environmental and safety solutions, psychological assessments, and emergency management. As a Physician at NSA, your role will consist of administrative, clinical, and academic responsibilities. The primary focus of the position consists of supporting occupational health policies, programs, and services to advance the health and safety of the workforce. The clinical case mix includes work injury evaluation, acute illness management, fitness-for-duty and functional assessments, return-to-work evaluations, pre-preplacement physicals, foreign travel examinations, and medical surveillance. You will also provide consultative services regarding medical regulations and requirements, such as FMLA and OSHA standards. In this role, you will work directly with patients, other healthcare providers, psychologists, Human Resources, Employee Relations, safety services, and industrial hygiene. You will be a subject matter expert for the Agency regarding medical issues, occupational exposures, travel medicine, fitness for duty, and medical.
SKILLS
- Evaluate and treat patients in an acute care setting and in emergency situations as needed. - Conduct Occupational Health Program medical examinations for pre-employment, fitness for duty, medical surveillance, and special duty certifications. - Serve as a consultant regarding occupational exposures, fitness for travel and travel-related medicine, and interpretation of medically related regulations and legislation. - Act as a Medical Review Officer by evaluating and communicating results of non-negative drug tests. - Advise the Agency in medical matters pertaining to intelligence operations, security matters, employment and personnel issues, and legislation. - Assist with teaching, education, and evaluation of rotating Occupational Medicine residents. - Assume supervisory or managerial roles, as needed.
PAY BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Salary: (GG-15) Expert Level ($148,484 - $176,300) Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Office of Occupational Health Environmental and Safety Services (OHESS) known as the NSA Medical Center, supports the mission by applying professional knowledge in Occupational Health, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and Safety operating in accordance with all governing body regulations. OHESS personnel will provide clinical services, including emergency response, physical exams, immunizations, vision and preventative health screenings. Personnel will also provide technical, managerial, and administrative services to the entire workforce. Promoting, assessing and optimizing the health and safety of the NSA workforce and workplace is always priority.
