Come join the Parks Operations Section, a work unit with approximately 400 employees who maintain and provide programming to the entire King County Parks system. This role will be critical to ensuring that front-line staff have the correct tools to do their job while ensuring alignment with auditing, financial, and other policies and procedures. This role develops close relationships with internal Parks stakeholders as well as other County agencies. They must be comfortable providing expertise and recommendations on equipment or supply use, supply chain conditions, and purchasing options to experienced front-line staff, while resolving conflicts and maintaining positive working relationships.
This position will implement policy and procedures and oversee Parks Operations Fleet, Equipment, and Inventory Management Program. It will also support operations with seasonal operations and programmatic purchasing needs and provide expertise on equipment and fleet needs. This position will supervise an Inventory Purchasing Specialist II and will work closely with other team members, other King County agencies, and equipment providers and servicers. This role may also participate in rotational “On Duty” scheduling shared by Parks Operations managers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Managing a complex organization’s fleet, asset, or inventory program.
Researching, evaluating and making recommendations for large or task specific equipment or supply purchases.
Awareness and adherence to Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, including performing audits of assets and inventory.
Procurement and contracting at local, state, or federal levels.
Writing, revising, and training staff on policy and forms.
OR Any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the classification. Candidates without all the noted qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Oracle EBS or similar accounting system.
Experience working with an asset management system or inventory dispersal system.
