Horizon Accounting Inc. has an opening for the position of Accountant (Ref# AC811KS).

Work Location: 870 E. Higgins Road, Suite 132, Schaumburg, IL 60173.

Job Duties: 

Analyze financial information and prepare financial statements and reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities. 

Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements, or audit statements. 

Responsible for bank reconciliations and posting data entries from bank statements, credit card statements, and other reference materials provided by clients. 

Review/analyze general ledgers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. 

Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable. 

Support month-end and year-end closing processes. 

Prepare financial statements and produce budgets according to schedule. 

Prepare and file individual and small-business federal and state tax returns. 

Provide backup of other accounting functions. 

Provide support and advice to Management Accountant. 

Update W9 forms and issue year-end 1099 forms as needed. 

Coordinate with IRS and other government agencies for resolutions of various income tax, payroll, and sales tax matters.

Requirements: 

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration with Accounting concentration, or a related field. 

Plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years in a related occupation including Staff Accountant or related accounting experience. 

Position requires 3 years of experience with financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and preparing general ledgers.  40 hours/week.
