JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Operator-in-Charge (SOIC) assigned to Day Operation is responsible for leading a crew of 6-8 Plant Operators, working in coordination with plant operations and maintenance, scheduling plant-related operations maintenance, and assisting with start & stop of co-generation and HRSG systems. In addition, the SOIC coordinates and schedules shift crew relief as necessary, planning, scheduling, coordinating, directing, monitoring and reviewing a crew's daily work, attends to the assigned treatment process and/or special projects. This SOIC will oversee the Day Operations team and will be a non-permanent three-year assignment.

The position requires the ability to work all shift schedules and required to report to work during adverse and inclement weather conditions. Incumbents perform fieldwork at one or more wastewater treatment plant(s), collection system pump and regulator stations and associated facilities and are required to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, use stairways and ladders, and there is exposure to biological and chemical hazards and noxious odors.
UNION MEMBERSHIP: This position is represented by Wastewater S.E.I.U. Local 925.
SELECTION PROCESS: This selection will follow Local 925's CBA Article 8.7 (Senior Operator-in-Charge). Reviews of performance appraisals, personnel files, internal reference, BT / Vacation usage logs, etc. will also be conducted prior to any final job offer.
