Job Summary

Responsible for instructing, directing and verifying the work of other Application Development Analysts, leading team in both technical and business endeavors. Oversees program designs, coding or configuring, testing, debugging and documentation. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects, and responsible for ensuring successful implementation of projects or phases of projects. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems, while considering equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Gathers business requirements, translating that information into detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written or configured, and validating that the proposed applications align with the architectural design and with the business needs. Designs, codes or configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents and maintains large and/or complex programs using a variety of software development toolkits, programming languages, testing/verification applications and other tools, while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards. Coordinates deep troubleshooting and issue analysis, as well as coding, testing and implementing software enhancements and/or applying patches. Drives process leadership for work groups, and product/service delivery strategy and work plans. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. This individual is responsible for quality assurance review and metrics reporting, and serves as a business and practical expert for technical and business processes. In addition, the Lead Application Development Analyst will be expected to take on additional formal and informal assignments within their area of expertise.

Essential Functions

  • Leads in the design, development, implementation and documentation of customer-focused programming solutions, while ensuring development best practices and quality standards are employed. Utilizes the Spectrum Health Project Management and other appropriate methodology processes, policies and tools to help ensure that upon implementation, a program aligns with the Information Systems architectural design, and successfully meets the customer’s business needs.
  • Provides process leadership for work groups, and leads in product/service delivery strategy and work plans.
  • Manages and maintains customer relationships, and resolves their concerns. Accountable for resolution of implementation and support issues, and leads collaboration with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents and problems, using established IS procedures for problem and situation management.
  • Leads risk assessment and root cause analysis efforts. May partner with both technology and application vendors; collaborating to analyze problems, and develop and implement the appropriate solutions. Effectively communicates to leadership the status and resolution plan for complex technology issues. Understands both the current and future states of the technology, and is able to define and articulate pros, cons and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Provides forward-thinking technical leadership for applications development. Assists in the creation of technology roadmaps and effectively communicates roadmaps to senior leadership, as well as identify opportunities to improve service delivery across service lines.
  • Mentors less senior team members, and is accountable as a role model for customer service excellence. Seen and used by team members as a “go to” person for expertise in the analysis of application development. May also be seen as an expert in the industry outside of the organization.

Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Preferred Master's Degree or equivalent
  • 10 years of relevant experience related field Required
  • 7 years of relevant experience developing and supporting applications Preferred
  • System development lifecycle experience, including requirements, coding, testing and implementation Preferred

    Additional Job Description

    • Responsible to design, code, test, and implement new Salesforce software applications to meet project objectives and support new or expanding business objectives.
    • Responsible for all Salesforce program development which includes consulting, documenting, and maintenance of ongoing operational processes.
    • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce CRM platforms
    • Salesforce developer or Administrator certification a plus
