FSS/ROSS/Special Projects Coordinator (Part time)

The Housing Authority of the City of Bradenton, FL has a position open for a part-time FSS/ROSS/Special Projects Coordinator. 

Example of Duties:

 Responsible for administration of the HACB’s Family Self-Sufficiency / ROSS programs and links FSS / ROSS program participants to supportive services and follows-up on referrals.

 Works with the Program Coordinating Committee (PCC) and local service providers to ensure that the necessary services and linkages to community resources are available and provided.

 Interviews FSS / ROSS candidates to determine the participants’ service needs and linkage of specific services to the FSS/ROSS participant in order to assist the family in achieving self sufficiency.

 Develops a detailed service plan outlining specific services (such as employment training, education and counseling), time frames and goals for achieving self-sufficiency.

 Ensures, through FSS case management, that the services included in the participants’ contracts of participation are provided on a regular, ongoing and satisfactory basis.

 Ensures that participants meet established goals, that FSS escrow accounts are established and properly maintained for eligible families.

 Provides workshops, meetings, and presentations to educate, facilitate and encourage resident interest and motivation in programming and services that are available.

 Performs job development functions for the FSS & ROSS program families as needed.

 Develops reports as required for management relating to the status of FSS & ROSS programs.

 Updates HACB policy and procedures (Section Eight Administrative Plan and Public Housing Admissions and Continued Occupancy Plan)

 Develops, implements and manages all special programs and projects assigned by the E.D.

 Prepares and submits monthly reports providing details to the E.D. for all areas of responsibility.

 Performs other related work as required.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must possess good communication and negotiation skills (both written and oral), must be well organized and have a demonstrated competence working with low-income and culturally diverse individuals and families. Should have a working knowledge of HUD programs and have excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Must be a high school or vocational school graduate and have a minimum of two years working experience with the social service delivery systems, particularly employment, training, education and counseling programs are essential. An appropriate valid Florida driver’s license is required.
