What are we looking for?
EBSCO information Services is seeking a Senior System Architect who will focus on data architecture, analytics, governance, and management.  You will have the technical responsibility for the overall architectural and engineering design of EIS’s data ecosystem. This role interfaces with business stakeholders, cross functional teams, and customers to solve problems by defining high-level functional and nonfunctional requirements, analyzing technical trade-offs, and determining the architectural strategy for our enterprise-wide data & analytics initiatives. 

 

What will I do as the Senior System Architect at EIS?

  • Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the data solution
  • Work directly with agile teams to implement solutions
  • Participate in design/code reviews and solution deployment
  • Own design artifacts and documentation
  • Work with internal customers and stakeholders to establish high-level solution intent
  • Establish critical nonfunctional requirements
  • Participate in quarterly high-intensity company-wide planning exercises
  • Interact regularly with business stakeholders about features under development
  • Plan and develop architecture in support of upcoming business Features/Capabilities
  • Participate and contribute to the Community of Architects
  • Stay abreast of industry/technology trends relevant to the Software Engineering discipline.

 

What Skills do I need to be successful as Senior System Architect?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field. 
  • 5+ years’ experience in software development. 
  • 5+ years in an architect capacity around data engineering and building data pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience with big data architectures, ETL and data modeling.

 

What preferred skills would be helpful as Senior System Architect?

  • Big Data Solutions 
  • Streamsets, Kafka, Kinesis, and Elasticsearch in AWS 
  • SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, NoSQL databases 
  • Enterprise Data Governance 
  • Data Pipeline Operations/DataOps 
  • Data Privacy and Security 
  • Data Analytics Architecture 
  • Third-Party Analysis and Reporting Tools 
  • Skilled and knowledgeable with microservices 
  • AWS knowledge and certifications a plus 

 

Target Annual Salary Range: $ 127,020-181,460. This Pay Target range includes a bonus target of 5% of base salary. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
