Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, develop, administer and monitor Microsoft SQL server and databases to ensure functionality, and to support system and company needs. Implement appropriate degree of normalization for optimal performance and integrity. Architect databases to include appropriate schema, database objects and security principals.

Retrieve and manipulate data for analysis of application software capabilities. Programmatic retrieval and manipulation of data including use of temporary objects, common table expressions, and set-based theory. Develop and implement archiving strategies, and design objects such as stored procedures, user-defined functions and database views to support software development.

Design and test system requirements to define optimum system performance standards. Document applications and systems for future maintenance and upgrades. Leverage SQL Server performance monitoring tools and metadata to ensure optimal application program design.

Ensure SQL Server functionality through software maintenance and testing. Analyze execution plans and database performance metrics to optimize statement execution and application performance. Leverage knowledge of system databases and tables for general database platform optimization.

Modify existing software as needed to correct errors, improve performance and ensure compatibility with hardware. Programming in .NET in addition to TSQL, plus script development to support database administration. 

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar field or foreign equivalent. Employer will accept a 3-year foreign degree or a 3-year foreign education in lieu of a "Bachelor's Degree Equivalent."

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in the job offered.

Alternetive Educational/Experience: Four (4) years of experience in the job offered. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

Special Requirements: Certifications in 1) Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration Certificate, 2) Microsoft SQL Server Programming Certificate
