Maintenance Mechanic

Graymont is the second largest producer of lime and lime stone products in North America with facilities located across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Our Genoa, OH plant (near Toledo) is accepting resumes for a Maintenance Mechanic. The ideal candidate must possess safe mechanical skills (troubleshooting, welding, metal fabrication, ability to read drawings), repair experience with material handling systems, and modern workload management. This is a day shift position with some overtime. A successful candidate must pass a basic written exam and skills test. Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform routine, scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs to all plant equipment

Troubleshoot:

Conveying equipment and associated systems:

• belt conveyors
• drag chain/s,
• elevators
• air slides
• screw conveyors
• material feeders

Water related equipment

• pumps
• filters
• valves

Area plant equipment

• coal mill
• kiln
• cooler
• Baghouses
• finish mill systems

Associated plant equipment

• drives,
• couplings
• cooling pumps
• compressor
• dust collector

Diagnose equipment problems

Maintain, repair, install and replace mechanical systems and associated equipment. The use of Graymont Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) will be required.

Monitor, troubleshoot and perform field inspections on equipment. Take action (report, operate, repair, fabricate, clean, adjust, etc.) on field equipment and process.

Observe, understand and apply all safety policies, rules and procedures throughout the plant.

Maintain work area in a clean, organized and safe manner.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Must be able to perform all technical aspects of the job by using all tools or systems required to perform work (vibration analysis, thermography, micrometers, and welding machines).
• The ability to communicate fluently to convey, exchange, and understand questions, ideas and instructions in both verbal and written form.
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 75 pounds.
• Work in adverse weather conditions.
• 5 years of millwright or mechanic experience required.
• Qualified candidate must pass a mechanical aptitude and weld test.
