The Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Montana seeks a Sports Editor to lead its award-winning sports department. This coveted position hasn't been available for more than 25 years. We're looking for an editor to take over the reins with confidence and bring fresh ideas to our sports coverage in print and online. The Daily Inter Lake is the leading source for local news and sports in Northwest Montana. Our sports team covers a variety of prep and seasonal sports, including eight high schools, winter sports, rodeos and equestrian events, endurance sports, auto racing and more. The sports editor is responsible for planning the daily sports budget, mentoring reporters, writing game coverage and features, leading page design duties and ensuring the sports section hits the press by deadline. We're looking for an editor with a good understanding of community journalism, and who is adept at building relationships with coaches, athletic directors and athletes.
