| Job Summary: | The Authorizations & Referral Scheduler will primarily be responsible for specialist referrals for patients from the department appointment report (DAR), and insurance authorizations for pediatric specialty services, including authorizations for office visits, inpatient admissions, outpatient procedures, diagnostic tests and lab work. Correct Epic registration problems that cause insurance errors, subscriber mismatches and incorrect billings to go out. Keep current with all insurance carrier policy changes, in network vs out of network providers and new policy offerings and their benefits. Obtain and provide letters of medical necessity when needed, especially for Genetics and out of state labs, or other specialized testing. |

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Associate's degree and two (2) years relevant insurance referrals and authorizations experience in a healthcare related setting or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Excellent written/oral communication skills required. |
| Preferred Qualifications: |
Outpatient clinic experience preferred. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 is preferred. |
