Transportation Management:
- Safely and efficiently transport patients with limited ambulatory ability to and from designated location
- Operate equipment used for transport activities
- Assist patient in and out of wheelchair if necessary
- Must perform other duties as assigned or required to allow for the smooth and efficient operation of the transportation service
- Greets patient/family members in a courteous and helpful manner
- Effectively communicates with patient/family member/staff
- Maintains daily vehicle log of all transports (scheduled/unscheduled)
- Maintains vehicle maintenance log
- Performs daily vehicle checks
- Facilitates maintenance (if needed)
- Maintain vehicle and wheelchairs clean and in good operating condition
- Refuels vehicle as needed
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal procedures/guidelines/regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; required
- 21 years of age, valid Mississippi Driver's License and meet the established hospital policy for approved drivers of hospital vehicles; required
- Completion of Ambulance Driving Course; required (given upon hire)
- Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) ; required
- Excellent customer service skills; required
- Good organization and communication skills; required
- Strong interpersonal skills; required
