Summary: 

Summary:
Performs external research and market analytics that support the growth and development of The MetroHealth System. Manages the creation, maintenance, and governance of sector data to produce analysis and recommendations for strategic and business development initiatives. Project areas include market research, planning, data analysis and management, and competitive intelligence. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The MetroHealth System.

 

 

Responsibilities:

1. Develops complex, strategic data analysis through integration of data from a variety of internal and external information sources. Provides information and recommendations to support increased growth and market share and entry into new sectors.

2. Ensures that MetroHealth understands the needs and perceptions of stakeholder groups. Conducts regular analysis of key stakeholders, both through primary and secondary research, and shares with the organization.

3. Interacts with management to provide a strategic analysis on the overall healthcare industry as well detailed subject expertise over a designated sector of the health care economy. Keeps the organization informed on current healthcare issues by staying abreast of current literature.

4. Provides interface among information systems, finance, clinical systems and executive management to access operational information and provides meaningful analytical information to assess and improve the organization’s performance in the marketplace.

5. Supports other department members in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of self-service data visualization analyses dashboards and other tools for a particular sector.

6. Guides the organization towards understanding of its marketplace including monitoring and reporting on competitive activity.

7. Enhances professional growth and development by keeping current with trends and practices through participation in continuing education courses, professional organizations, seminars and workshops.

8. Displays sensitivity to and understanding of various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

 

 

Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelor's Degree or have 5 years of related experience.
Previous experience in planning, policy analysis and market research in health care or related setting
Strong analytic and research skills, and excellent writing and communications skills with work experience
Knowledge of health services utilization, financial and marketing data, and market research methodologies
Demonstrated proficiency databases, geospatial software and visual analytics software.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Sector experience (post acute, payer, emerging or acute healthcare planning)
5 years of experience in a health care environment
Statistical software, electronic survey software, health information systems, geographical information systems and SQL programming experience

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
