Preferred Education/Experience | Experience with Caregiving or the pursuit of a Nursing degree is a plus * Must be female * Fingernails should be minimal length with rounded corners. |
Hours per Week | Hours: 12-16 hours Mon, Wed, Fri ==> 9a – 1p and 8p or 9p – 11p or 12a Tues, Thur, Sat, Sun ==> 9a – 12p or 1p and 8p or 9p-11p or 12a Weekday mornings are needed most. The ability to swap with other shifts occasionally is helpful. Working both shifts the same day is not necessary or common. I can work with your schedule. This position has the potential to extend beyond the summer months. |
Job Summary |
You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK. Female paraplegic in a power wheelchair. She is independent during the day but needs assistance with personal hygiene (daily dressing, sometimes bathing and bowel care) and other general needs at the beginning and end of the day. Ceiling-mounted lift used for transfers to/from bed and shower. Exercises with exercise bands for arms and passive exercises with legs. Keep employer apprised of low inventory items for medical supplies and other everyday items. Small tasks around the house such as reaching things that are out of reach for someone in a wheelchair, carrying in groceries from van, etc. |
