We have an opportunity to work on matching and linking subdomain of our Search engine. You will be analyzing, collecting, and conducting experiments (POC’s) to prove the viability of a solution using data driven decision making process. You will be working with other subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather requirements to understand the technical and business impact. As a Software engineer, you will be part of a development team where your primary focus is to enhance and bring new ideas to optimize our current search platform solution to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our search results using latest and greatest technologies with large amount data need to process to match and link articles across distributed product databases using AWS ecosystem for distributed data processing. You will focus on developing Java springboot microservices using state of the art container architecture by using our home-grown robust AWS automation pipeline to build, test and deploy the solution to customers 

 

As a member of an Agile development team, you will design, develop and demonstrate software in 1- or 2-week iterations as part of an Agile Release Train developing to a SAFe Program Increment. You will make commitments to the business and meet those commitments as a team. You will strive for continuous improvement in knowledge and productivity and display a pattern of continual learning and a desire to broaden your software development and design skills.

 

 What you’ll do

 

  • Provide expertise in designing, developing and enhancing search subsystems using latest and greatest technologies both in AWS and on-premise platforms.
  • Leverage and contribute building an application using state of the art homegrown CI/CD pipeline in AWS using CloudFormation templates and AWS reference architecture
  • Work closely with architects to migrate/re-platform our existing search subsystem to AWS ecosystem by adhering to the standards defined by the Reference Architecture team
  • Design and develop various observability and telemetry solutions for operational efficiencies
  • Be the technical leader supporting the assessment, design, implementation, and maintenance of highly complex and scalable search platforms.
  • Collaborate with product management and your team while analyzing and decomposing complex software features into simpler stories for planning and execution.
  • Own system and feature quality throughout the development, testing, and deployment phases to ensure quality delivery expectations are met.
  • Drive value and build to continuously improve the quality of the team’s deliverables.
  • Conduct new technology research, proof of concept, and design work that will provide direction for the enhancement of the overall system and products.
  • Contribute to software engineering best practices for design, coding standards, performance, security, delivery, maintainability, and culture.
  • Demonstrate ownership of developed components from development through production.

 

 

Skills or experience you need.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or other Technical related degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of .Net/Java development with Spring Boot technologies
  • 4+ years of experience in large systems software design and development with hands-on experience in RESTful Web Services, XML/JSON, HTTP, SSL.

  • Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or other Technical or Library Science related degree or equivalent experience.

 

 

Skills nice to have for this job:

 

  • 2+ years of backend/server-side programming experience using .Net/Java and Spring Boot technologies
  • 2+ years of strong experience in building high-level transaction and highly scalable enterprise applications
  • 2+ years of working and developing in a highly distributed environment
  • 2+ years of writing strong unit tests using various tools and Automated Testing with Junit, LoadRunner etc.
  • 1+ years of DevOps or automated software deployment.
  • 1+ years of understanding and working in CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins or other similar tools
  • 2+ years of working on an Agile team.
  • 2+ years of Web Services lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy), API versioning and design approaches, tools, inter-operability, and SOA concepts.
  • 2+ years of Microservices and microservice design patterns.
  • 2+ years of Developing automated integration or acceptance test scenarios.
  • 1+ years of Performance testing strategies and techniques.
  • 1+ years of one or more JavaScript frameworks (React, AngularJS, Node.js) and JavaScript libraries.
  • 1+ Years of AWS or any cloud-related skill is preferred but not required
