IT-Assistant Vice President (Morrisville, NC): Work with business analysts to understand project requirements & convert those requirements into technical design documents. Build programs using Splunk, Informatica, PL/SQL, Linux/Unix Shell scripting, Python & Control-M scheduler to handle the data as per the design & promote to higher environments. Perform unit & system testing of newly developed program to ensure the built/updated programs are as per the coding standards approved by the team. Participate in functional requirements review meetings, which involves devising, strategizing, & explaining technical specifications & the way to achieve customized software solutions to team members. Prepare test cases for business requirements that are being built & perform testing. Provide support for business & functional acceptance testing which involves ensuring technical specifications meet business requirements & coordinating with developers, business analysts, & project managers. Provide guidance on the migration of the legacy platform to the new strategic platform using Hadoop & Hive. Understand end user questions & defects in JIRA on customer data & provide explanation or timelines of the fix.
