A large manufacturing company is seeking a Purchasing Clerk to join their team. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist clients in obtaining proper specifications, quotations, delivery terms, costs, and explore and recommend alternatives to save or improve delivery
• Advise department heads regarding purchase and supply requirements, specifications, quantity, and quality of merchandise and delivery needs
• Solicit and analyze quotations for new or non-standard items and recommend or approve awarding of contracts or purchase orders
• Survey vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery times to determine best and/or possible new supply source
• Research and resolve problems with vendors and company departments to facilitate the purchasing process and ensure purchases comply with requirements, regulations, and purchasing practices 
• Maintain proficiency in inventory control, vendor contract information, cost control, and bid analysis
• Perform other duties as needed

Job Qualifications:

• Must have experience with Purchasing, Inventory, EDI, and Vendor Price Negotiation
• Knowledge of manufacturing and plastic is preferred
• Must be computer literate with the ability to use MRP, Word, and Excel
• Must have basic math and reading skills
• Must have strong judgement, decision making, persuasion, and problem solving skills
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be efficient, motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and prioritize work
