Job Summary

Under the direction of the County Superintendent, the Public Relations Coordinator develops, executes, and maintains a public relations strategy to maintain positive community relations for the Mendocino County Office of Education (MCOE). The coordinator maintains MCOE branding, updates website content, manages the agency’s social media presence, assists in the marketing of various MCOE programs and initiatives, and supports the County Superintendent’s public presence.

• Three (3) years of relevant, job-related experience and demonstrated competence in marketing and branding strategy, communications, and web/social media content development; • Associates degree in communications, public affairs, journalism, or related discipline is preferred; • Possess or obtain upon employment a valid California Driver License; • Provide proof of automobile insurance; • Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting twenty-five (25) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance. Employee will be a member of the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) to which both the employee and MCOE contribute. Employee may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
